Judit Kopócsy visual artist

I graduated in tapestry weaving in 1975.I have few textile works, because I have always been interested in painting and mixed media pictures. My ideal was Paul Klee's way of thinking, which for me resulted in an intimate painting, with variations in line and a free attempt to harmonise colour and line. Always on a small scale. The subjects are associative. Mostly inspired by archaeological memory. This way of thinking almost stems from my childhood. Textile art has influenced me mainly with its materiality and my experience there helps me to create my paintings with the least amount of colour, subtle shades and matte surfaces.
