Emory Ladányi(1902-1986)
He studied painting under Vilmos Aba Novák.
Simultaneously with his medical studies he was making artwork; drawings, woodcuts and illustrations.
He received his training in dermatology in Berlin.
Some of his works were on show at the „Der Sturm” exhibition.
In 1929 he moved to New York, where he worked as a practitioner and researcher.
He regularly had his works exhibited by the Art Gallery.
During World War II, he was on medical service in South Africa and later in Italy.
In 1945 he shortly returned to Kecskemét, his place of birth, but in 1946 he returned to the USA.
From 1954 on his works were again seen on several solo and group exhibitions in America, in European cities, among them in Budapest at the Vigado Gallery in 1993.
His works found their was to Hungarian public collections e.g. The King Saint Stephen Museum in Székesfehérvár or the Art Gallery of Kecskemét.
Several public collection in the USA also hold his artworks.
